Bitmine's ETH Holdings Hit 5.96 Million, Total Crypto & Cash at $15.8 Billion in Q3 2026

As of Q3 2026, Bitmine Immersion Technologies has announced its Ethereum (ETH) holdings reached 5.96 million tokens, with total crypto and cash reserves valued at $15.8 billion (approximately ₹1.31 lakh crore). This significant stake represents 4.9% of the total ETH supply, nearing the company's 'Alchemy of 5%' goal.

New Delhi: Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) announced in Q3 2026 that its holdings in Ethereum (ETH) have reached a substantial 5.96 million tokens. The company further reported that its total crypto and cash holdings currently stand at a massive $15.8 billion, which translates to approximately ₹1.31 lakh crore at current exchange rates (₹83 per USD).

This substantial accumulation of Ethereum positions Bitmine Immersion Technologies as a major player in the global digital asset landscape. The company currently holds 4.9% of the overall ETH supply, which is estimated to be 122.0 million tokens.

Nearing Strategic Goal

Bitmine's latest announcement highlights significant progress towards its strategic objective, dubbed the 'Alchemy of 5%'. The company stated that it has achieved 98% of this goal in a remarkably short period of just 15 months. This rapid accumulation underscores Bitmine's aggressive strategy in the cryptocurrency market.

For Indian retail investors, this development signifies the increasing institutional interest and large-scale capital deployment into prominent cryptocurrencies like Ethereum globally. While direct investment by Indian entities of this scale may differ, the actions of international players often influence global crypto market sentiment and price movements.

Ethereum Outperforms S&P 500

In a noteworthy performance update for Q3 2026, Ethereum has been cited as the best-performing macro asset so far, significantly outpacing traditional benchmarks. According to Bitmine, ETH has outperformed the S&P 500, a key US stock market index, by an impressive 5,866 basis points (or 58.66%) during this period. This indicates a robust performance for the cryptocurrency compared to broader equities.

The growth in Bitmine's holdings and Ethereum's strong market performance could be of interest to Indian investors exploring diversification into digital assets. It also reflects the evolving landscape where cryptocurrencies are increasingly viewed through a macro-asset lens by institutional players.

Investors should note that while such large institutional movements can provide confidence in a digital asset, the crypto market remains volatile. Understanding the underlying technology, market dynamics, and regulatory environment is crucial for any investment decision.
