Virbac Reports €768 Million (₹6,835 Crore) H1 2026 Revenue, Up 7.4% at Constant Rates

European animal health company Virbac announced its first half 2026 revenues reached €768 million (approximately ₹6,835 crore), marking a robust 7.4% growth at constant exchange rates compared to the same period in 2025. This performance was driven by double-digit growth in its companion animal segment and solid expansion in farm animals, despite currency fluctuations impacting actual reported figures.

PARIS: Virbac, a global animal health company, has reported strong financial results for the first half of 2026. The company's revenue for the period reached €768 million, which translates to approximately ₹6,835 crore based on a general exchange rate of ₹89 per Euro. This represents a significant 7.4% growth at constant exchange rates and scope (CERS) compared to the first half of 2025.

While the growth at constant exchange rates was robust, Virbac's revenue at actual rates saw a 4.0% increase, reaching €768 million. The difference between the constant and actual rate growth is attributed to adverse currency headwinds, which reduced the overall reported growth in Euro terms.

The company highlighted a balanced growth across its key segments. The companion animal segment, which includes products for pets, demonstrated exceptional performance with a double-digit growth of 10.0%. This indicates a strong demand for pet healthcare products and services. The farm animal segment, catering to livestock, also contributed positively with a solid 6.7% growth. Virbac credited the double-digit growth in its 'Supercharge platforms' for fueling this overall expansion, though specific details about these platforms were not provided.

Understanding Constant Exchange Rate and Scope (CERS)

For Indian retail investors, understanding terms like 'constant exchange rate and scope' is crucial. CERS figures adjust for the impact of currency fluctuations and any changes in the company's business structure (like acquisitions or divestitures) over the period. This provides a clearer picture of the underlying operational performance, as it removes external variables that can distort reported growth rates. In Virbac's case, the 7.4% CERS growth shows a healthy expansion of its core business, irrespective of the Euro's strength or weakness against other currencies.

Impact for Investors

Although Virbac is a European company, its performance offers insights into the global animal health sector, which is a growing market driven by increasing pet ownership, rising awareness of animal welfare, and advancements in veterinary medicine. For Indian investors considering global diversification or tracking the animal health industry, Virbac's H1 2026 results suggest a resilient and expanding market. The sustained growth in both companion and farm animal segments points to diverse revenue streams and a strong position within the sector.

The company's ability to achieve substantial growth despite currency challenges underscores the fundamental strength of its business model and demand for its products. These results, published on July 20, 2026, will be closely watched by analysts and investors interested in the animal health space worldwide.
